You can work the reception desk and/or do clean up. Other than that you will need your license. In our state you need 600 hours of continuing education (check out hair schools) to earn your nail license. The time flies by and if you were already doing front desk at a nail salon you will have an advantage that others wouldn't...first hand knowledge of what to expect. no, not unless you have your certificate..the good news though, is that you have now narrowed it down to something your truly interested in, now just take the short course(most of the job is learned on site), and next thing i can sign up for a manicure/pedicure!

You have to have a license to work as a manicurist. Thats the law!
