What is the most effective way to advertise for my start up nail salon on a shoestring budget of $50.00 per mo

Print up some flyers and offer a two for one. Or you could offer one for regular price and the second at half price the first month. Pass the flyers out at college campuses in your area. Or you could do this with business cards and go into businesses like real estate offices and introduce yourself. You can have 1000 businesses cards printed for a little over twenty bucks at www.gotprint.com. I would try to increase my advertising budget just a bit more to $100 if i could.Give people incentives for referring others to your salon. What is the most effective way to advertise for my start up nail salon on a shoestring budget of $50.00 per mo

Free Ad sites for one. Costs nothing but time and can get you some clients. See below:

1. Make a formalized referral system. That means you print up a little card , and or ask existing clients for referrals consistantly. ';Here is a $2.00 coupon for some of your friends, I'll put your name on the back, when 5 friends have used my services, you get a free pedicure'; something like that.

2. Press release. Create a press release for the local papers about your new salon. Include a high quality photo. Write a nice story for the press release. They will run it, they love local news and it will get you business.

3. Start a rumor. Did Britney Spears have her nails done at your salon? I won't say. Can't tell, sorry.

4. Hold an open house. You have a new salon, send a little post card to the entire zip code around your salon for ';coffee and donuts night open house';. Meet people, hand out discount coupons, let them see your salon. Show them the new pedicure chairs. Educate them on nails.

5. Teach home nail classes at the local college or even in your salon.

6. Exchange desktop brochure space with nearby hair salons and massage places.

7. Contact the local taxi company and make sure all the drivers know about your salon. Tell them you'll buy them coffee if they recommend your place. ( or other bribe )

8. Place brochures at local hotels that don't have a salon. Motels, La Qunita, Motel 6, Hampton Inn.

9. Advertise on local grocery store carts.

10. Invest in some bandit signs that you place around town on the weekend, but remove during the week to avoid local sign laws.

11. Partner with a local restaurant, fast food or otherwise. Give their clients a free nail session for buying x amount of lunches, and give your customers a free lunch after so many manicures.
I think this is one tye of local business. So it will be better you give advertisement in classified newspaper or put your advertisement in Local Yellow Pages.

Business cards and word of mouth. If you do a really good job, it will get around. Start by placing flyer's anywhere around your business that will let you place them.
Word of mouth is the best ways and it's free.
i think the best way would be to make a flyer and scatter them in peoples mail in the local area.
