Why are nail salon's run by Vietnamese people?

I had a professor tell me once that there was some famous singer (I thought it was Barbara Streisand or something) who was responsible for placing Vietnamese immigrants at nail salons as a way of integrating them into America.





Does anyone know anything about that? If now, why are so many nail salon's run by Vietnamese people?Why are nail salon's run by Vietnamese people?
